NIKI Club selected for International Traveller's 100 Best Hotels and Resorts!
| Ryokan Collection is thrilled at the recent announcement that our member property NIKI Club & Spa has been selected as one of International Traveller's 100 Best Hotels and Resorts in the world.
Ranked by the prestigious magazine at No. 6 in Asia and No. 23 overall in the world, Niki Club was recognized for the premium quality of its service and the beauty of its surroundings. The write-up appears in International Traveller's September/October Collector's edition.
In its article on the hotel, International Traveller cited the zen-like serenity of NIKI Club's beautiful forested site in the Nasu valley and the outdoor woodland hot spring spa bathing, as well as the elegant East-meets-West design, with its successful marrying of Japanese tastes and Western techniques.
The magazine also cited the main wing's wall-to-wall windows overlooking the surrounding maple forests, mossy gardens and towering bamboo, and the Terence Conran-designed East Wing with its split-level modernist suites, blonde wood and glass doors opening onto private "rotemburo," or outdoor hot spring baths.
NIKI Club's two restaurants, the French-inspired La Brise and the spa-cuisine oriented Garden Restaurant, both of which source their produce locally or harvest it from NIKI's own kitchen garden, got special mention for their delicious and healthy cuisine.
The magazine in particular got a kick out of NIKI Club's unique Forest Concierge, who leads popular hour-long guided tours in the Yokozawa forest every morning before breakfast. He also keeps a "forest blog" in which he chronicles the seasonal changes in the woodlands around the NIKI Club site.
Conveniently located close to the nation's capital, a quick 75-minute hop on the "shinkansen" bullet train from Tokyo station to Nasu Shiobara, the 41-room NIKI Club has numerous devoted guests who return again and again for a well-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. NIKI should also see a lot of new clientele in the near future, especially in the run-up to the recently announced 2020 Summer Olympics.
So congratulations to NIKI Club and its staff for this well-deserved recognition of their hard work and devotion to premium quality and service.

NIKI CLUB
Nestled in the lush valley below the beautiful Nasu mountain range, just 75 minutes north of Tokyo, in Tochigi prefecture, is the small Japanese luxury hotel Niki Club. It is a haven for tranquility as well as offering both summer and winter recreational activities. Nasu's beauty attracts visitors from around the world as the area remains almost completely in its natural state.
The Niki Club is an exquisite and picturesque escape into natural beauty and personal discovery. What began as a six-room members only hotel in 1986, has grown into an intimate leading class property in one of the most spectacular locations in Japan. The hotel's desire to exceed guests expectations led to the design of 12 new peaceful and magnificent rooms. Renowned architect, Terrance Conran, created the new wing, 'Niki Club East', with 24 rooms that stayed true to Niki Club's philosophy and unrivaled presence.
The excellence of the deliciously healthy cooking served at Niki Club alone is worth the trip. Using the onsite 100% natural organic ingredients in the recipes is part of Niki Club's belief in the body's own innate intelligence to respond to, and nurture itself.
The employees are central to Niki Club's operations philosophy. Niki Club has perfected a blend of art and science in their luxury hotel that allows the smallest of details to be attended to with ease. They know that even the best locations and offerings are meaningless without world-class guest.
