The main bath, Koumei no Yu, is a huge granite swimming-pool-size tub, with floor-to-ceiling windows that slide open to allow access to the fresh open breezes. The hot spring water, free-flowing from the hot spring source, is full of dissolved minerals that help alleviate a host of ailments, both physical and spiritual. The women’s tub is black granite, with a red granite bottom; the men’s side is the same arrangement, with hues that are darker and more masculine.
Both sides also feature a small round pool filled with regular, and rather bracing, mountain water, as well as a Swedish-style dry sauna.
Outside the bath is Moai, a sitting and chilling lounge, with easy chairs, complementary refreshments, and a pleasant garden view to rest your eyes on.
