1. Kaiseki lunch with Maiko
Enjoy a lunch of kyo-kaiseki – Kyoto-style kaiseki traditional Japanese haute cuisine – with Maiko in one of Kyoto's main Geisha districts, Miyagawa-cho, Gion Higashi or Gion Kobu. Maiko, who are Geisha in training, mostly attend formal banquets at night, so this is a good opportunity to enjoy the company of Maiko in a casual atmosphere, compared to the usual evening occasions.
2. Kodai-ji temple or Kodaiji Tatchu Entokuin temple early morning experience
This is a special early morning admission, separate from the usual admission time. After an introductory Zen meditation experience, you will be invited to enter the Otamaya (mausoleum) of the world-famous Kodai-ji temple, which is designated an important cultural heritage site.
In addition, you can try asagayu rice porridge, which the monks eat for breakfast every morning; this will give you a deeper understanding of the world of the Buddhist priesthood. This is a unique experience that no other tour company can offer.
3. Private evening admission to Kodai-ji temple's lit-up garden
The entire facility is reserved for this special evening experience. The garden is lit up in a lovely romantic scene, especially for the guests. This special experience can be reserved for special occasions such as wedding anniversaries and marriage proposals.
After the staff greets you with a welcome drink, you can enjoy strolling in the garden, then enjoy dinner while looking out at the beautiful lit-up garden. The meal is catered in Japanese, Kyoto or Western cuisine by hotels or by other fine local restaurants.

・It is the responsibility of the member to read, understand and remain knowledgeable of all of the Terms & Conditions, inclusive of any amendments thereto.
・Minimum age for membership in The Ryokan Collection (TRC) loyalty program is 18 years Only one individual per membership may be registered. Each individual may only have one membership. If TRC discovers that an individual has more than one membership, TRC may terminate any and all of such individual’s memberships, and such individual shall immediately forfeit all benefits and awards.
・TRC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the loyalty program at any time, with or without reason. If TRC terminates the program, TRC shall have no obligation to offer a replacement program. Any select guest benefits or services guaranteed when booking, prior to termination of the select guest program, will be honored and granted for up to three months following notification that the program has been terminated,
・TRC reserves the right to modify the Terms & Conditions of the loyalty program with or without notice. TRC’s right to modify the Terms & Conditions shall include the right to add, delete or otherwise change any of the rules, procedures, conditions, benefits, awards, and other similar aspects of the program in its sole discretion, even if such changes may affect the value of awards or benefits already accumulated. TRC will use reasonable efforts to advise members of changes to these Terms & Conditions in advance, but shall not be held liable in any way for any failure to do so.
・TRC may engage third party partner companies to provide certain membership benefit services. TRC is not responsible, and assumes no liability, for the goods and services of such partner companies (including any changes to or discontinuances of such partner companies’ goods or services).
・These Terms & Conditions and any disputes arising out of or related to the program shall be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with, the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. All disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Program, must be submitted to binding arbitration and decided on an individual basis, without the right for any claims to be pursued or decided as a class, consolidated, collective or representative action.
TRC membership is automatically renewed every two years.
The qualifying LRC members will earn a one-night Free Night Award every ten (10) times of each stay (the number of nights does NOT count) in more than three (3) different member ryokans within three (3) years at a qualifying rate at The Ryokan Collection.
- If an LRC member notices a qualifying stay has not been credited to their account adequately, they may request us within three (3) months of the non-credited stay (based on its check-out date). We will adjust your membership account's balance accordingly once we verify your non-credited stay.
- All accommodations are subject to availability at the time of reservation. Advanced reservations are required and must be booked through The Ryokan Collection.
- Free night redemption includes a room, dinner, breakfast, and taxes. Other incidental expenses such as transportation, beverage, lunch, spa treatment, etc., may not be applied and will be charged upon your check-out.
- If a member fails to cancel a guaranteed Free Night Award reservation within the permitted cancellation period, The Ryokan Collection reserves the right to modify the stay and void the Free Night Award certificate.
- Free Night Awards will be expired in twelve (12) months from the date issued.
- Free Night Awards that are believed to have been bartered, sold, exchanged, or issued fraudulently to someone other than the eligible member will be void.
- Free Night Awards may not be exchanged or redeemed by the LRC members for cash, prizes, or credit.
Exclusive Experiences are awards at the TRC Loyalty Program. They include special access with our formal instruction to the cultural experiences, attractions and events not easily available or accessible to the general public. The exclusive experience service will subject to charges from the experience provider and the payment has to be settled in prior of the experiences to TRC. PRIVACY AND OTHER POLICIES
The Member agrees and consents to TRC’s registration and processing of personal data relating to membership in the loyalty program in accordance with applicable legislation, these Terms & Conditions, TRC’s Terms of Use, and TRC’s Privacy Policy which are hereby incorporated by reference in their entirety and made a part of these Terms & Conditions.
One qualifying time of stay is a stay of one or more consecutive nights spent at the same ryokan (whether or not a member checks out and checks back in again), during which a qualifying member pays a qualifying Rate during the stay. If a member is not named on the reservation prior to departing the hotel, the stay is not a qualifying stay.
A qualifying rate is a rate available to our official tariff and the general public. for such night, but specifically does not include the following rates: (1) travel-industry staff rates; (2) any employee rates, employee family or employee friends discount rates; (3) other discounted rates; (4) any complimentary, free, traded or bartered night stays, or any stays in connection with gift certificates or other awards or vouchers.
A qualifying Guest is a registered as The Ryokan Collection Loyalty Program Member whose name appears on the room reservation. Associations, corporations, and groups are not qualifying Members. If a Qualifying Member reserves and pays for more than one room, the free night credits are earned on a maximum of two rooms during such stay. Free night awards may not be transferred from one member to another. Only one member per room, per stay may receive the free night credits. If two or more members occupy the same room, tier and free night credits will be awarded only to the member whose name appears on the room reservation. If more than one name is on a single room reservation, tier and free night credits will be awarded to the member whose name appears first.
