The Ryokan Collection Heritage Traditional Contemporary
The Ryokan Collection slates to welcome its first member
in Mt. Fuji area in October 2018.
The Ryokan Collection member Kato Pleasure Group (KPG) will open a new luxury ryokan “Kawaguchiko Fufu” in Mt. Fuji area this autumn.
The new premium ryokan, “Kawaguchiko Fufu,” will have 32 guest rooms, each of which boast spectacular views of Mt. Fuji. This small luxury resort will offer a new concept - seamless coexistence with the surrounding nature - in addition to premium luxury, excellent Japanese-style hospitality, and the charms of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.
Ryokan Experiences
Complete Fusion of Nature
Kawaguchiko Fufu will be located on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, only 2 hours away from Tokyo by car. Lake Kawaguchi is one of the Fuji Five Lakes, part of Fuji Hakone Izu National Park, which is home to some of the most famous onsen resorts in Japan. At Kawaguchiko Fufu, you could fully enjoy the beauty of Lake Kawaguchi, the original natural terrain and trees have been maintained at the site. The ryokan offers a new style of stay at the resort, focusing on nature and the seasons - cozy warmth in winter, cool breezes in summer - and the theme of “Rest and Serenity.” All the rooms and restaurants have views of Mt. Fuji, and the suite rooms have views of both Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.
Richness of Tourist Attractions in the Surroundings
The surrounding area offers tourists fascinating experience in addition to Mt. Fuji itself. In spring, the Fuji Shibazakura Festival is held at nearby Lake Motosu, and many visitors gather to enjoy wandering through the pink carpet created by moss phlox that covers the ground of an entire park. And also there is Fugaku Wind Cave in this area, a lava cave that was created during an eruption of Mt. Nagaoyama, a volcano on the side of Mt. Fuji, more than 1,150 years ago. Adjacent to it is the Narusawa Ice Cave, another natural monument.

KPG will collaborate with Hulic Co., a leading Tokyo real-estate company to develop the “Fufu” series. After the opening of Kawaguchiko Fufu, 5 more in the series are also slated to open including Atami Fufu KO NO MA NO TSUKI, Nara Fufu, Kyoto Fufu, Nikko Fufu and Gora Fufu by 2020.
