It is said the influential Buddhist priest Gyoki first discovered the hot springs of Yamanaka in the Nara period of the 8th century, and ever since these onsen springs have been renowned for their soothing and curative properties. The baths at Kayotei are pure luxury, as befitting such special waters. Kayotei`s main bath is surrounded by towering glass walls which seem to draw the pristine forested hills inside.
