THE RYOKAN COLLECTION

The public bath has two sections, separated by gender, which switch every night at 10:00. The two rotemburo outdoor baths, Ichinokura and Sennokura, which are fed by the famous Tanigawa Onsen hot spring source, are big granite pools with bottoms lined with stones from the river below, and overlooking the beautiful gorge with its pretty mixed forest. A path leads to a secluded sitting area by the river. The indoor bathing facilities are equally sumptuous, with several big granite ofuro baths, a huge hinoki wood bath, a mist sauna and a dry sauna.
